Description

What You’ll Be Doing

An Internal Auditor at Bank Iowa supports the bank’s internal audit program to ensure team members follow internal control processes, policies and procedures. This role works closely with all levels of the bank staff to complete internal audits and reviews.

  • Conducts internal audits of compliance with internal controls, regulations, and policies for the Bank as stated in the internal audit policy and audit schedule.
  • Assists senior leadership in identifying and evaluating risk exposures.
  • Provides management with recommendations to strengthen risk management and control processes across the organization.
  • Assists with reviewing and maintaining the Bank’s internal control documentation.
  • Maintains work papers detailing the area covered by the audit schedule.

The Internal Auditor is generally scheduled to work between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, hours can be flexible depending on need. Internal candidates located in one of our branch locations may be considered. 

Requirements

Skills/Experience You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business preferred. 
  • 1-2 years’ audit, lending, deposit, operations, or accounting experience in a financial institution.
  • Experience with financial institution software systems (e.g., Finastra, Fiserv, Jack Henry, OnBase, etc.).
  • Ideal candidates will also possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, strong attention to detail and have the ability to work independently.
